Two Weeks in...and stressed

Its been a few weeks into the semester and already I am feeling overwhelmed. I am carrying more credits than is necessary, interning and attempting to prepare myself for life. The preparation for life includes reading articles, tweeting, networking events and enjoying the last bit of my college years. Also keeping a running list of places to interview and send resumes. Updating resumes, cover letters and web presence. Its busy and I love it.

I have been interning at Teak Media Communications since May and I have to say I love it. I never expected to find such fulfillment out of working for non profit organizations. Or in PR. I now consider myself a junkie of both. It is rewarding work. The news we create does make a difference and I am so happy to be a part of the agency.

I am working for a Spa this semester through EmComm. We have a couple of neat things coming up and I hope that my group and co-AE can pull off the necessary things to make this project a success.

School is school. I have subjected myself to all required classes this semester so that next semester I can take four classes that interest me. That being said I like my classes. History of Jazz jolts me awake in the morning with the sounds of Jelly Roll Morton, Ma Rainey and King Oliver. Intercultural Communications continues to beat me down in the discovery of identity. Strategy reminds me of why I want to do marketing as we discuss insurance for two hours in preparation of this years AAF Competition. Research Methods follows the book precisely and reminds me of why I want to start working.

There are a couple on new things I am still trying to organize. Working with Big Sister and Horizons for the Homeless. Some interviews of how to get myself started in the real world. I also may be attending the AAF conference in October. There is a lot to do and a lot to learn. I am anxious to get started.
